Earthquake in my home town?
Today afternoon, entire Chennai (and different parts of India as well) were busy. There was enormous phone calls ringing here and there to know whether everyone was alright or not. I guess there must be congestion in the mobile networks because of enormous calls. It was fortunate that nothing happened to anyone due to earthquake in Chennai (and different parts of India). Thanks to Mother Nature!
But, I feel sad for the people who were injured in Indonesia. I request, Mother Nature to show mercy on people of Indonesia, so that next time, the earthquake would be mild and nobody is hurt!
One of my friends, who had stayed in Japan for quite some years, told me this. I thought, it would be worth sharing.
In Japan, everyone has a small bag which contains passport (if they have), some amount of money and emergency medicines in it. When they happen to experience earthquake, they immediately catch hold of that bag and either run, if the corridor is very close, or hide themselves under the table.
I was also told that there is a lesson for the Japan students to handle earthquake. Do's and Don'ts during earthquake are being taught to all citizens of Japan right from their young age.
We should also learn from them that, how to handle crisis situation and act accordingly!

One correction I would like mention, under the table would not be there, may be next to the table.
ReplyDeleteI had read that under the table is again dangerous. next to the table is the ideal way to save
Is it? I was told like that only... Not a problem.. I would correct, if that is the case!!!
