There is also another way of looking at it... The sky is very near so that we can grab it!!!

If the mind is in happy state, all things seem to be set right and rest are working all right.
If the mind is in unhappy state, all things seems to have gone wrong.
So, it is we who have to decide and keep in mind and keep mind in the relevant state for the rest of the other things to work right!

Movie Remade - '3 Idiots' to 'Nanban'!

Movie Remade - '3 Idiots' to 'Nanban'!

When a movie is remade, we all tend to compare with the original version. Similarly when a movie is adopted from a novel, we tend to compare with the novel.

First movie, I have seen adopted from novel was "The Da Vinci Code". I liked the novel more than the movie. I read the novel first and then, I saw the movie. All written in the book can’t be told / shown in couple of hours. Very true. Reading always unfolds the imagination and the place, people's physique are left to the reader's imagination, though they are penned in the novel. It was real fun reading "The Da Vinci Code" rather than seeing the movie.

Now comes the comparison of the remade movie. I have earlier seen so many re-made movies like "Bodyguard" in Hindi and Tamil version, "Jab-we-met" in Hindi and Tamil version, "Singham" in Tamil and Hindi version, and so many movies. Though I compared the original version with the remade version, at the end of the day, there was no take away from the comparison or there were no repetitive thoughts about the remade movies.

Recent remade movie, I have seen, is 3 idiots. I really liked the movie very much (I meant the original version). The story line (adopted from Chetan Bhagat's novel), Amir Khan’s expression, acting of R. Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Sharman, etc, location, songs, screenplay... And what not. More than anything else, I liked the opening song. I saw the movie many times, especially for the title song - 'Behti Hawa Sa....'. As we all know, the film was blockbuster hit. Kollywood (South Indian Tamil Cinema) announced that the 3 idiots would be remade. There were so many dialogues for choosing the actors. Then finally Tamil version of 3 idiots released in the name of 'Nanban' (Friend), couple of weeks before. The movie made so many expectations because of Shankar’s direction, remake of famous hit film.

I went to the movie along with my cousins. Since, I have seen the Hindi version many times; I could able to compare each scene back to back. Except for the songs, rest of the movie is similar of Hindi version, obviously.
On the whole, I can’t say that the movie is extraordinary, because of the cute expression of Amir Khan can’t be brought into the Tamil version by Vijay, though Shankar being the director of the movie.

People who had not seen Hindi version may appreciate the movie on the wholesome, barring the Vijay's expression.

Though, it is the way we look at it, there are few confusions and confusion creating people around us. We can't help the confusions and people who create confusion. It is our responsibility to be clear and have clarity in thinking and responding back clearly!
Clarity in thinking makes us to move to further level!

A trip to Tamhini Ghat in Pune

A trip to Tamhini Ghat in Pune:

Though, I am not a good traveler, I go out sometimes. Trip to Tamhini Ghat is also one among them.
It was not early in the morning. I generally don’t like to get up early during Sunday mornings. It was on Sunday.

Trip started in my friend’s Nano car along with his family. I was sitting at the rear seat.
My friend was driving Nano. There was a sudden change in the plan to include another family. He has brought his bike. All set and travel started.

As usual, we did not know the route and started asking people on the way to go to Tamhini Ghat. We could able to manage asking people in and catch the route. Right side of the road was bank of the lake...'Mushi' Lake, left side of the road was small hills... I checked the milestone for the distance between the place where we were and Tamhini. It displayed 14Km. Every milestone we crossed, I noticed on the right side of the road that, the lake was following us. It is very long... It ran into km. There was a mountain at the centre, which was covered with little bit of fog and clouds. The colour of the mountain could not be exactly seen as it was mixed with clouds. Obviously, it would have been only green color. I was amazed to see the long lake (Though lake cannot be long and it can only be large, I choose to mention long lake). There were so many sign boards on the entire stretch, mentioning not to enter the lake as the underwater currents were more. We didn't want to just see the lake, but to at least dip our leg into it. We were seeing the side of the road whether there would be any entry to lake. There was cultivation land in some place, and then followed by vacant land. But almost, most of the lake was covered with fence.

We went ahead. At last, we could able to find a way into the lake. We stopped the car. I was more excited to get into the lake. The lake water had gone little bit inside. There was a tell-tale on the surface of the ground that water had dried-up. It was showing wrinkles. I was careful when I walked on it. Though, it looked dried up, it was not so. My leg slipped. I got a firm grip and then proceeded. There were two kids. My friends' daughters. I took of the child and proceeded further. More than I was, she got excited to get into the water. Being child always makes not to fear for anything. She didn’t bother, whether there would be depth, or sudden increase in the current, or any reptiles or any other thing. She just wanted to play in the water. I also felt the same thing, but I could not proceed further than 1 foot depth of water. Growing old means, growing in all terms. People's fear towards unknown things in this, like depth of water, current etc etc also comes into place. I literally felt to stay there for a long time.
Nature makes the man happy. It keeps the man to forget his past. Aligning self towards nature is a gift.
There was couple of other view points where we spent our time and finally returned. Till the time we took U turn, it was almost 20Km from the place where lake started. But it is extending more than 20Km. Being brought from Chennai, it is difficult for people like us to see clean water bodies at Chennai. Place like Tamhini ghat and the water bodies in the way really make me to admire nature and the creator of all these things.
We are nothing in front of Mother Nature. She is the best.

Surprising Pune!

Surprising Pune!

I surprised last week when I was the Pune bus stand! After coming to Pune, in the last 2 years, travelling in the government bus was hardly 2 times.... But it was not from bus terminus to some other bus stop. It was from 1 bus stop to another bus stop!
Before telling about the surprising of Pune, I would rather tell about comfort-ability of Pune

I felt and feel comfortable in Pune:
1st thing that made me feel comfortable is the 'Autowala' - Auto driver, who had taken me from Airport to Chinchwad, during my interview at Pune, rather first trip to Pune.
Though, all Autowala takes money, that guy asked me whether I had taken breakfast in the morning. I could see truth in him, when he asked me. I said I would take after some time. He was about to get some bananas for me for the breakfast. I chose to say thanks only and not to take bananas from him.
When travelling, the auto guy didn't know the 'Autocluster' when the interview was held. Obviously he asked another guy who was passing by. Instead of telling the route in few minutes, the other guy spent  almost several minutes in explaining the route in detail. Had the Autowala told, how had not understood, he would have almost come with us to show the place. I felt comfortable that people around me are helpful.
It is really important for anybody to feel safe and comfortable when they come to new place.
Coming back to the surprise #1:
I went to city last week and was in the bus terminus. I saw people sitting in rows. The bus stand was not so good. It was with ordinary steel rusted bench, but clean. The ticket counter had mesh wire structure as always seen everywhere in government bus stand. The paint had gone in most of the places and looked bare. I saw the bus coming and stopped at the mouth of the queue. People without quarrel got into the bus like a school children going for NCC parade. I have not seen this in any other bus stand (I mention in Tamil Nadu). It was almost more than a decade, I have gone by government bus. I was taken into surprise that people of Pune follow queue system in bus stand. Though this would be normal to many people, at least to me, it is a surprise.

Surprise #2:
Though all big shops and mall follow this, its a surprise to me that road side shops follow this.  Ya, dustbin in the shops. I did not mean that big shops are great and small shops are bad!!!I have seen in big malls and shops that they have dustbin mentioning 'USE ME'. I have seen in railway station, bus stand etc etc. But I have not seen in small tea shops in Chennai. There are so many things in Chennai for which awareness to be brought to the people. There is a responsibility lies in me as well. When I saw the dustbin system in most of the tea shops in Pune, I got surprised.

It is a general tendency to compare with Chennai, where I was brought up and lived for more than 20 years. Its always good to take the best points of other places and try to incorporate in our places and best points of our places to other places.

My point is to grab the good learning's from wherever, whomever, whatever possible and try to implement as far as possible.

Making fellow-humans feel comfortable!

Making fellow-humans feel comfortable!

Making fellow-humans feel comfortable - Most of the times, we don't give a thought about what would our actions implicate on fellow-human! I do think some times.

Helping others is helping self. If we voluntarily help others, though others accept it or deny it, the tendency of us will make others to feel comfortable and more than that, we feel good about it!

A bus-mate from Pune to Bangalore took dinner in the hotel during my journey. He paid the bill and the hotel cashier rejected to take 1000 rupees note as the serial # started with '8'. He started convincing him that he had taken that note from ATM. However, cashier denied and that guy paid all his change for the dinner and came out. I was watching this. In the morning, the bus driver stopped the bus for breakfast. I went into the hotel, took Poori and came outside. That guy was sitting outside and waiting for the bus to start! I remembered the previous night incident of 1000 Rs note and I understood that he has not taken his breakfast. I introduced myself and asked him to take breakfast. He denied and told me that he would not take food during his journey. I could read from him, that, that was not the truth and he didn't want to take money from me. I made strong request. But, his denial was stronger than mine. The bus driver horned the bus to indicate all of us that time up. we had to get in2 the bus. I didn't open the Maaza 1/2 litre can and a chips packet. I forced him to take them for bf and he could not resist this time. His eyes was filled with friendship and I could feel it. I felt happy.

First peaceful Journey!

First peaceful Journey!

For the last 2 years, there was much of travel to various places, including my travel to home town, which is almost close to 10 journeys either by bus or by train or by flight. Whenever, it was flight journey, it is an hour and half. But when it is a train or bus, obviously, it is minimum 20 hours journey.

I always have a travel kit. I rather call it as safety kit. This kit is useful only during journey, which consists of 1. Sick bag, 2. Few Chocolates, 3. Eucalyptus, 4. Tissue papers, 5. Lemon dry pickle. All these things r precautionary for my vomiting sensation. Every time, I go for long journey, I always feel vomiting and most of the times, I vomit when the bus stops for food. Instead of taking food, I keep vomiting. I don't know, this time, there was no vomiting sensation for even a single time and I didn't use any of those from my travel kit. I had taken taken my dinner, breakfast and lunch properly. Every time, I skip fearing that I would vomit.

This is quite peaceful journey!

Hope this continue!

By the time, I write this, I realized that the next journey back to Pune is tomorrow. This vacation is so short and I cant even take a long breath in my home town!!!!

Few of Ahmedabad is more of Chennai!!!

Few of Ahmedabad is more of Chennai!!!

Travelling makes a man to explore more. Though, Internet has made world in one pocket, still nothing like physically experiencing by self.

I had travelled to Ahmedabad for my official trip. The place where I stayed, is few 10s Km away from Nano manufacturing plant. Hence I need to take a drive for some time. Ahmedabad city which I saw reminded me of Chennai mount road. The width of the road, sign boards on the side of the roads, the shops and malls on the banks of the road, separator and what not, resembled Chennai's mount road.
Same as in Chennai, most of the shops name board in Ahmedabad is mentioned in English in the area where I was put up.

After returning back on the second day, I had few hours left before going to bed. I thought I would go around the city for some time. I have seen Sabarmathi river, where Kite festival would be celebrated in couple of days. I compared with the only river flowing through Chennai. People, when they see anything new, most of the times, compare with the earlier known or seen or heard things. I guess, this is the general nature of humans.
The river called Coovam flowing through Chennai, is only a carrier of city drainage to the sea. People who were born in Chennai in early 1900 will go mad, if they see present Coovam river at Chennai.
However, Sabarmathi river is still the clean. The driver told me that the chief minister of Gujarat has taken initiative to  maintain the Sabarmathi river.

Then I went to the old Ahmedabad city.  Fantastic, it was!!

That comment was not for the way in which the old city is maintained... It was for the way in which it reminded me of my home town!! There is a place in Chennai called "Parrys Corner"... Exactly the same... The people, the roads, the crossing lane, width of the roads, the platform, shops on the platform, goods sold in the platform, the shopkeeper.... and what not! When I crossed the road, I checked the both sides of the road before crossing. But a man suddenly came from somewhere and crossed. I just stopped crossing. This exactly happens in "Parrys corner". Though I came from the market in short time, I could not take off from my memory about the Ahmedabad market - "Teen Darwaja".

I earlier remember reading Sarojini Naidu's poem on Market place in Hyderabad (I don't remember exactly). This reminded me of writing a post about Ahmedabad!

Though, the trip was very short, any place, which reminds of my home town Chennai, I love it!!!

Things don't always happen as the way we plan

Things don't always happen as the way we plan...
Its not "the complaint"... But it happens many a times and it is the fact as well.
A classic example:
Though, I have experienced similar kind earlier and not exactly the same.

I had planned to Nano manufacturing plant for official trip. Due to the non-availability of the tickets from Pune to Ahmedabad, travel desk has booked from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.

Hence, I need to travel by road from Pune to Mumbai.
I planned to take bus at Bangalore-Mumbai highway road. Generally, the travel time on road takes about 3 hours. I anticipated traffic and other unexpected factors in-place and had 2 hours extra time in my pocket. Hence I started 5 hours early.

I traveled quite a distance. But the funniest part was that the traffic of Mumbai was not the one, which I anticipated. I was taking help from my friend to know the distance between the place I was in, and the Mumbai airport. As and when, he mentioned 15 km, 12 km, I was checking my watch and calculating the remaining time to check-in. It was real tension to my head.

Though, I knew what answer would come from the bus cleaner, I asked him, what would be time that the bus would reach the closest place of airport. The answer was obvious and he said "It all depends on the traffic". I was telling myself, why could he not say, it would take only few minutes...

It was only 50 minutes left when I got down from the bus. By the time, I searched for an auto,  took it and stepped into the airport, it was almost 40 minutes left. I reached the counter. Murphy's law!!! The counter did not work and they closed it. I approached next one! They tried giving me a boarding pass. Since there was no extra baggage or than my hand-baggage, it was easy for them. However, they need to check with their superior for clearing my boarding pass. Finally I got my boarding pass. The check-in process was so quick and it was literally 2 min from the time I got my boarding pass and the time I entered the gate to board. I got into the aircraft and sat on my seat.

I could able to take a big sigh and "Thought things don't happen always as the way we plan" !!!

#7 I Believe
We, sometimes, tend to neglect our own inner-voice which will always give a hunch on our day-to-day actions and decisions.
If results turn out to be the way which we don't want to happen, then we recollect the inner-voice which was very feeble and we did not listen to it.
Evaluating the sequence of actions before decisions along with pros and cons, if and buts, along with certain importance to intuitive will always help us to have conscious call on the decision, and moreover, it makes us responsible for outcome of the decision!

Decision is one of the important and crucial actions that an individual has to perform for his future and other things. One should not leave taking decision to others, rather he can ask only suggestions. Final decision should be from self for at-least self related things!!!

My first day of 2012

My first day of 2012

Though, yesterday was first day of 2012, I treat today as my first day officially (As I have been to office today and interesting factor is in today).
I was anticipating that today would be so busy, because of two reasons 1. I have so much of backlog from last week 2. As usual today is week beginning.
Though today was fully tied up with so many activities, I could able to enjoy today for one big reason.

There was a mail from Finance team on Friday late evening, that they wont be able to credit the salary either on 31st or on 1st. I was upset after seeing this email on Saturday. Almost I was about to spell out foul words from my mouth. The reason being, many people would be expecting salary on 1st of every month to repay their loans. I am one among them. I have put up strong efforts to Citibank to revise the repay date from 1st to 5th or something and equally there was a strong denial from them when I took the loan. Hence, I have decided to keep a stock of EMI amount on my account anticipating this kind of actions from my "GREAT" HR and finance team.

Hence, I did not exactly have problem, if the salary is credited on 2nd or 3rd. I was quite comfortable, though everyone cannot maintain sufficient balance on their account every month anticipating this kind of stupidity.

There was a sms from HDFC bank displaying that my salary was CREDITED to my account, followed by back to back sms from same that my loan is DEBITED from my account.

I was happy to see sufficient balance in my account after loan amount is debited. Everybody would be happy, if they maintain balance in the account.

Its a normal tendency of most of the human being to react happily if money is seen. Since, it is the money earned out of one month of work put in, definitely the happiness will be multi-fold for salaried people.

I could equally manage my monthly expenses within my salary now, since I have properly budgeted all factors into my monthly expenses statement considering all ifs and buts. Hoping  that no surprises come suddenly.

After coming to flat, I had a chat with my sister for more than an hour. She said that she was feeling comfortable and light after talking to me. I felt happy.

Opening of 2012 was really great!

Happy moments of 2011

Some of the happy moments of 2011 (not in the order)...

1. The day when I generated money for my flat and registered the land...
2. When my 7 year old niece asked me why I called her up, knowing that I called her to wish on her birthday
3. Whenever I go to my home, my mom kisses me when I am leaving from home to Pune
4. When my friend, who came to my flat told that my flat looks clean and tidy
5. When I my friends told me that my own food preparation was good!
6. When the breeze touched my face when I travelled to Lonavala
7. When I saw my photo taken by friend in the surrounding environment covered by flowers
8. Whenever, I recollect my good time with my friend
9. When my team felt my importance during a crisis situation (though I play an important role in my team)
10. When I received comment on my first blog post!
11. Family trip to temple!
12. My first trip to Nano plant!

I challenged my memories and could not come more up in 1 day, since the happy moments of 2011 is for one complete year.
But I am sure that there are much more happy moments in 2011.

I would be able to blog my happy moments extensively for 2012.

Warm welcome to 2012!!

Expecting a great year ahead!!
