2012 - Another year, certain successes it brought to me!

Today is the last day of 2012. It is so good to just turn back a year and recollect the happy moments and challenges seen throughout the year.

During the start of 2012, a change in my career happened. I got offers and obviously I need to make a plan to switch over. As I decided to proceed with Renault Nissan, I gave my resignation letter to my reporting manager. The notice period was a both challenging and time passing. The efforts, I have taken to convince my manager was well received. I was really happy to communicate in proper manner. Since, I was coming back to Chennai and join my family, I was interestingly thinking and doing things to vacate Pune, my unforgettable place. Two years in Tata Motors fetched me good friends, good understanding nature, and ofcourse, I developed talking in Hindi.

It is a good start after joining Renault Nisasn. The way of working and looking at things happened to be more-or-less the same, what I anticipated. I started to have very good challenging and encouraging environment. New friends, new working culture, new assignments etc added a different dimension in my career.

The travelling time is almost couple of hours everyday to office, I started to use this time in reading again. I continued my reading habit and it gave me good energy for body and mind. I earlier keep track of books that I read. But now, I dont keep a track as I started to outflow my target. Thanks to the travelling time!

Gaining weight was almost a unreachable task for me yester-years. But this year proved untrue for this. I gained considerable weight after concentrating on regular work-outs in gym and regular natural diet. Thanks to my friend who runs the gym and his friend who is a personal trainer. Most of my friends never believed on seeing my photo, to see me gaining good weight, compared to what I was earlier. This is another challenging task accomplished.

I feel, one of the important accomplishments for every individual is buying house. Though, this got fullfilled end of last year, the construction work actually started this year and the possession would be sometime during next year. This is improvement over last year accomplishment on buying house.

Another happy incident of 2012 for our family is: We celebrated 80th Birthday for our grandfather. It was a family gathering. All of us, uncle, aunt, cousins everybody visited to native and enjoyed the occassion. He felt very happy for our presence and we felt happy for his happiness. This is the first incident in recent years, I remember that all members of family were present. Good occassion to remember for life time.

I had Christmas vacation of about a week. I planned to visit Pune with my parents, sister, niece and cousins. Finally ended to visit only with my parents. It was a four days visit to in-and-around places in Pune and Mumbai. My parents were very happy during this visit. I felt I have done a good job by taking them to the place where I lived for 2 years in my career. I felt so happy that all my friends have taken good care of me and my parents. It gave me comfortable feeling.

On the whole, 2012 is really a good year for me on both personal and career front. I expect 2013 would be very good for me as I have planned few important things in 2013.

Happy and Prosperous 2013 to all of you!

Busy, but bit lazy!

People choose to spend their time either busy engaging themselves into any activities or in leisure. After I am back to Chennai, the days are busy! It is not only during office hours but also after office hours. New company, new assignments, new people. Yes, it takes few weeks or a month to settle down. But having settled, it becomes routine. I am into work!

Office hours have become busy! But the rest of the time? Have I become lazy? Yes, lazy to be on laptop! When compared to the time spent on laptop few months before, I don't spend much time on laptop. However, I spend time on  travel from home to office. Though the travel time is well utilized either by reading books or talking to friends over phone or nap! The time is diversified in many activities and time spent on blogs have become very less!

I am spending more time for myself now! Earlier was not physical though, but like reading articles on net, blogs, Wikipedia etc. now time on them is reduced and increased for physical activity during after office hours! Physical exercise changes the system, system of appetite, system of sleep, system of energy, system of appearance and system of thoughts.

After long time, allocating time to my posts. If the continuity is lost, it takes certain time to regain. This is applicable to most of the activities, either physical or mental! Result of few months away from writing a post, took some time to choose apt words to complete this post. But nevertheless, happy to be busy for the entire day.

Friends to be always in touch!

I remember, my sister used to write letters to her college mates a decade ago. She used to write to her friends and wait for their reply. It is always pleasure to be in touch with friends. I have asked my father, mother, aunt and uncle about their childhood friends. They told that they had contact with some of them till some point of time. My chat with them about this, sometimes reminded them about their childhood friends.

My elder sister used to write letters to her childhood and friends to keep in touch, during earlier days. Now she is not in touch with many of them.

The present scenario is different. There are so many ways of being in touch with close buddies. Cell phone call, sms, social networking sites, etc are the ways to be in touch with friends, though they don't have much time to meet each other frequently.

Earlier Google Orkut had taken big credit to keep friends stay in touch. I have asked my cousin, who used to be online on Orkut. I did not understand the social networking sites then.  But after couple of days usage of them, I liked to get most of my school friends online. College friends would be recent and keeping in touch with them, after the cell phone boom, is easier, unlike school friends.

Orkut is now nostalgia, after Facebook came in to picture. FB has become mandatory for all new mobile phones, be in any time of mobiles. FB on mobile has become one of the marketing point for the mobile manufacturer.

I am happy to be in touch with most of my friends. Thanks to FB.

Friends are moral support for anybody. I have very good supportive friends who encourage me every time. I am happy about it.

Today being Friendship day, I thought, it would be more appropriate to mention this.

I received sms, calls, FB wishes from my friends. I wish all my friends, "HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY"!!!

First Novel that I read!!!

One of my friends used to read books while traveling in bus. Traveling time was almost an hour in the bus when I was with my earlier employer. Except for one of my friends in school days, I don't remember anybody else read books other than school books. I did not develop the habit of reading during school days and it continued during college days as well.

After seeing one of my friends who read books while travelling, I also wanted to taste the effect of reading. I always discuss most of the things with one of my friends. I told him that I wanted to read books. He was also insisting me to read books for long time and he gave me a book. It is the famous Tamil novel "Parthiban Kanavu" (Parthiban's dream) written by famous author Kalki. The initial pages were read only slowly. But after few pages, the book was only page turner. The story revolves around the "Chola" and "Pallava" kingdom.

I liked reading the novel. It brought the entire kingdom in front of the face. The credit goes to the author who has made sincere efforts to portray the scenes as if it is happening on the screen. I used to go to my native place, a kind of town, every summer vacation during my school days. Mostly we preferred bus journey. We never missed seeing many paddy fields and greeneries during our journey. The author brought all the scenes in front of the eyes.

Books always unfolds the imagination. If we had see any similar type earlier, then that adds to the imagination. The imagination is left to the reader. The author guides the reader to travel through a particular path, the way in which he has mentioned in the book. That is why, some critics have always told that, some films based out of novels has not really come out the way in which, it was penned.

The first novel pulled me towards reading books. Be it a novel, be it a fiction, be it a history, biography, the author must attract the readers to sink into the book. Then only the readers go for next book due to the interest and urge created by the author. Not necessarily the same author, though. Had my first novel would have not been so interesting, I might not have been so keen to read more books of different kind. It is the same way of my first english novel - "Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown. After the speculation of "The Danvinci Code", Dan Brown is almost know to everybody. "Digital Fortress" equally pulled me to read much more and I am happy that I read books during my journey time.

Happy Reading!!!

Rewinding memories back to Pune

People always rewind their memories when any present incidents look similar to the earlier happened incidents. It was a sudden rain in Chennai couple of days ago. Though rain is a common factor in almost all the places, somehow my memory is connected to Pune, if there is any rain.

It is just one and half month that I am out of Pune. But the hill stations, I visited, keep coming to my memory when I was sitting at the window seat in the bus. The office was very close by my flat. So I did not get much of a chance to walk or travel in rain for a long time earlier. Nevertheless the duration of the rain was for entire day, week and months continuously. It keeps raining, rather drizzling for almost entire day.

The chill wind with droplets of water, that passes by, with the scent of sand, water and air mixed with, always a pleasant. The smell remains for the whole season and it is present everywhere, office, flat, balcony, balcony plants and everywhere.

Earlier, every day evening, when I was walking from office to my flat, it neither allowed me to keep my umbrella opened or closed. By the time, I open, it gives indication that the drizzling stopped and by the time, I close, it starts to pour. I have told this over phone, then. I even reached the point that, let it rain or not, let me hold the umbrella opened. The bike ride sitting either at back or front always a good memory to cherish, though I have not ridden bike during rainy season in Pune for many times.

Chennai started to rain? A couple of days ago, only for two-three evenings for about half an hour or so. But the feeling it had created drove my memories back to the last rainy season in Pune. I did not remember enjoying rainy season in Chennai during my school days or college days. The only enjoyment was whether the school or college would announce holiday due to rain. That was the only expectation and enjoyment during those days. Subsequently, the water logging in Chennai makes life miserable in rainy season. This makes many people to hate rain. I am not an exception! But no water logging, no mud splash, and drizzling and chill wind always make a person to enjoy the rain. And that is what made me to enjoy rain in Pune. The same effect in Chennai (at least to the place I belong to, did not have too much of water logging for half an hour rain) made me to rewind my memory back to Pune!

Decision made!!! - #38 I Believe

Decision made is always correct.

If the consecutive sequences of the decision becomes bad, then it proves that the outcome has become bad only. And had it not been taken in such a way, the outcome definitely would have become worse (or even worst).

On the other hand, if the consecutive sequences of the decision becomes good, then it proves that if the decision is not taken such a way, the situation would have become bad.

Movies!! Reasons to see them???

Seeing a movie is definitely going to cost few rupees (now a days, going to a theater is no more few rupees...!!), cost time, cost petrol (petrol is nothing but money, but it is becoming more expensive now a days!!). The money, time and petrol spent for a movie should be definitely worth watching a movie. The content of the movie should do either of the following from my perspective:

     1. Should enable one to enjoy it from humorous perspective
     2. Should recollect some of the past memories
     3. Should get excited about the twists and turns sitting on the tip of the seat
     4. Should kindle the thoughts
     5. Should feel the impact of any of the element of the movie like story, screenplay, etc
     6. Should bring out a true incident happened somewhere in the corner of the world
     7. Should be a outcome of the modern technology like graphics, camera, etc
     8. Should create feel good feeling after coming out of the theatre

A movie can have any of the above or many of the above or completely hijack couple of hours and finally make it pass!!! Ofcourse one of the main factors to go to a movie is to time pass!

Some of the movies may not any one of the above factor. I don't want to find and mention here.

Recently seen movie "Kalakalappu" is one such movie, where I burst out laughing during most of the scenes. Director has made it again bringing out the comedy sequence for most part of the movie. After long time, this is one such movie with lot of comedy sequence, I have seen.

I enjoyed myself for close to couple of hours sitting in the theater watching "Kalakalappu" with my sister.

10th and 12th Standard Result at Tamil Nadu

10th and 12th standard results are important for everyone of us. I am seeing in almost every job, they make sure that they ask us to attach mark-sheets starting from 10th standard and then upto latest UG or PG or whatever.

10th and 12th standard examination results were announced in Tamil Nadu students couple of weeks ago. I was glancing through the TV channels and this was one of the highlights in all the news  channels of Tamil Nadu. Out of all the channels, I am impressed with one of the Channels. It is "Pudhiya Thalaimurai", can be translated in English as "New Generation". This channel was recently started as news channel and I guess many people welcome this channel for various hot news in a plain way without adding flavors from different political parties.

No doubts that all channels announced the Top ranker, pass percentage, highest mark. However, this particular channel alone has published in a different way considering the remaining majority percent of the students who scored less than the so called high percentage students.

They have clearly indicated in the channel that "Marks are only figures and nothing more than that". They also told that Mr. Ambani, Mr. Gates, Mr. Tendulkar have not scored well in their schools and it is an indication that marks alone do not play important role in the career.

This gives a message to the students who might score less marks that they need not worry. This gives a message to the parents as well. Whether the message is considered by many of the students and their parents is immaterial. However, the message would have been definitely listened by many students and parents and it would have created a thought in their mind.

Though the results were announced couple of weeks ago, I prefer mentioning the channel's different thought here.

New assignment, new faces and new location

It is almost a month, I have written hardly any posts or been online. Though I was online for quite some time every day, I did not write any posts. Is that the reason that, I am travelling quite a lot now everyday? Is that the reason, I am online only for quite less time everyday than what I was earlier, a month before? Is that the reason, I am observing the situations and happening around me to collate them and write here?

Lot of thoughts gushed my mind in last one month like when a water is kept stored in a place and it is opened to a channel.

I have many things to write here. Say, results published in Tamil Nadu, Feedback on couple of books that I read, Back to my home, My new employer, New team, New assignments and what not. I have aligned them to write here, as the days come.

So far, 101 posts are here. This would be 102th post, which I feel, it would be appropriate to write about my new employer and new assignments.

I have always thought, be it the decision I have taken earlier to join Tata Motors or be it I have denied to joined other employer or be it I have quit Tata Motors, I have taken my decision correctly. And it is more time that I feel, I have taken right decision to joined my present employer. It is not just the package or the position. It is the work environment that I  am presently in.

I feel, the team is much more important than any of the other requirements. This statement does not mean that my earlier team is not good. All my statement was, my present team is good. To feel better, the environment is better than my earlier employer. Here comes the comparison.

Though, I have not mentioned any thing elaborately here, I feel that, this would be sufficient to start with.

I believe, I am going to enjoy my assignments with my team mates and continue to perform the similar way that I did in my earlier companies, rather better.

Nostalgia with 'TATA MOTORS'

People would be expecting their first day in any company would be memorable. Of-course, I too expected the same and it happened to be same. I cannot forget my first day in my present and earlier employers.

Usually, it use to be form filling and stuffs like that. However, first day, gives lot of hopes and thoughts, how future would become prosperous (though it is in self's hand to make it prosperous). The same happened to me with this employer as well.

The first day and work period is becoming Nostalgia as I am separated from my employer.  Migration from one company to another company is done by most of the employees now a days. Sticking on to one company for decades, have gone.

I am happy and it is my pleasure to think that I have worked in one of the finest organisations - Tata Motors, Cars, SUVs, Commercial vehicles design and manufacturer. My career is also built with the inputs and learning's from the work that was carried out during my tenure in Tata Motors. I am personally attached to this company for few reasons mainly...

  • I came out of my home town to join this company. Being away from home makes a person independent
  • I started cooking for myself. Cooking is a pleasure and eating self made food cannot be explained
  • I started learning music. It is an entertainment for self and others
  • I got my new fellow-friends, whom I could have not met if I have not come here
  • I started expressing myself more
  • I travelled quite a number of places in and around Pune and some of the other cities of India
  • There are many other small reasons from which I am personally attached towards this company

The tenure is really a good memory to Cherish! I have made so many friends, benefited both tangibly and non-tangibly.

Now again back to the beginning of this posts. People would be expecting their first day in any company would be memorable. I am expecting my first day in my next employer would be memorable.

Branded items and Branded thoughts

Branded items which we use, is attached to the cost. Of course all items are attached to the cost only. However, Branded items are bit extra (rather more) when compared to the non-branded items. I could see quality could be related to the branded items and in-turn quality never comes for free (or never comes for less price), which is understood.

There could also be many reasons for more price for branded items. Probably, advertisements with top model and ambassadors, showroom cost, marketing, will obviously be added to the selling cost which should be borne by the buyer (us). I feel that we can pay for the quality. But, is it necessary to pay for the other things like advertisements etc? We are left with no other option other than paying penalty for those as well, if we want to own branded items.

As the ability to buy branded items increases, we can continue to be a part of quality items. However, there are few peoples whose thoughts are becoming narrow. I don't mention all. It is few. I mentioned in the title as "Branded" thoughts. Can thoughts ever become branded? I feel yes. If thoughts are thought to be quality, then it can become branded too. It could be just broad thoughts.

I am trying to bring correlation between using branded items and thinking branded. Using branded items is mostly for advertisements. Most of us cannot deny that using most of the branded items is for showing off, though certain other items for our own comforts. But I always keep on asking me a question, how can thoughts be broader? How can a person become broad minded person?

The answer lies with-in.

My sudden thought was, not only branded items brings out the image of the person, more than  the same, branded thoughts makes him (her) more familiar to the outside world.

Branded thoughts can only make a person branded!!

Veda, Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Qur'an, - etc etc

Every religion has their own sacred books and they make it practice to read them. I don't know whether "read" is the correct word to be mentioned for sacred books, though

I see, almost all schools preach any one religion's good things. All religion say only good on the wider scale.

I have completed my education in a school which belongs to Christian community. The headmaster, teachers most of them are Christians. Morning assembly, afternoon lunch, get-together, everytime, they make sure that any chorus, songs, hymns are sung followed by a short story from Bible to all of the students. It is a regular practice till today. I don't say it is wrong, though. I have seen many of my Christian friends said that (say that) they go to Church every Sunday and they read "Bible" everyday.

The same thing happens with my Islam friends as well. They say that they do "Namaz" (workship) every week or something and read "Qur'an" every day.

Whenever I go to any of my Christian or Islam friends' house, I always see Bible in Christian house and "Qur'an" in Islam house on the wider scale. I am not much aware about the other fellow-friends who belong to other community.

Though there are lots of sacred book for Hindus, "Bhagavad Gita" is considered as one which is known to many of Hindus. There are lots of others such as "Upanishads", "Vedas", "Mantras" available for Hindus. However, except for few families, are we reading them everyday as others read their respective sacred books like "Bible", "Qur'an" etc?

Probably the ratio of holy book readers is to total people in the community may be the same. I did not think in this aspect, though.

My point is not to raise any community differences or partiality towards one community here. All holy sacred books tell the same principle, same good things on the broader perspective. However, I feel it is better to read them at-least once in a week and try to use the good points mentioned in them to the maximum possible.

It does not mean that I am aligned towards holistic books or religion. I just want to mention that we should not miss out the good points mentioned in them.

"Tirukural" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirukku%E1%B9%9Ba%E1%B8%B7) is one of the sacred books for any religion in which almost all related to human life is spelled out. These 1330 "Kural" is more than sufficient for anybody to lead the happy life. Though, the original version is in Tamil, this has been translated into various languages for the usage of everybody.

I feel that all family should have this atleast one book and go through one "Kural" (line) everyday.

Mother's Day - I love my mom the most, I love who cares for me!!

Every day or the other day, there is a special. There are so many days celebrated in a year, Birthday, Father's day, Valentine's day, Wedding day, Independence day, Republic day, May day, World AIDS day... etc and what not. Out of them, there are some day's which are unique and special to each one of us.

Out of all of them, Mother's day is very special to almost every one of us. It is very special for me to.
I love my mom the most.
I love my aunt and sister, who pours their love on me. I don't want to restrict to say wishes only to my mom for Mother's day, rather I wish my aunt and sister too being Mother's day today.
Mother's love cannot be expressed in words.
Happy Mother's day Mom!
Happy Mother's day Aunt and Sister!
I wish all the Mom's in this world.. Happy Mother's day

Answers for questions - Journey #36 I Believe

Instead of asking questions to others, if we make ourselves to think about it and ask ourselves, the searching journey will fetch us the answers and directions for all our questions and thoughts...

Missing and Gaining - #35 I Believe

If we feel like missing something, then it  definitely means we are gaining some thing else.
We most of the time, neglect the gain, thinking about the missed one...

Dangerous Ishqq (3D) - Good, Ok, Bad!!!

Dangerous Ishqq (D. Ishqq) is another film that made me to think for a while. This time, it is not the story or the screenplay, which made me to think about the movie. But it is the dialogues which made to go back to my school days. Instead of mentioning it as dialogues, it would be precise, if I mention words chosen for the dialogues.

My second language in school was Tamil, my regional language. However, I learnt Hindi separately for couple of years, going to classes everyday in the evening. I did not get a chance to use Hindi in my home town until I came to Pune. It was more than a decade, I was in touch with Hindi. So it was little difficult during initial days, though. Now, I don't say, I am fluent, but I can definitely say, I can understand and make others understand.

After the usage of English and influence of western culture over us, the usage of regional words is day by day reducing. This is just not perception as it can be seen and experienced by anybody.

Of the recent Hindi movies, I have seen, D. Ishqq has used very good poetic words. During the initial 10 minutes itself, this could be felt and I was just telling my friend in the theater. This is really good and I liked this very much. Then in the entire movie, some of the words were not picked up from the regular spoken slang. When the story scrolled back to 1947, 16th century, 15th century, it was obvious on the words used. However, I could not understand some of the words in the movie. Since, I could make out the words on the broader perceptive, I loved the movie especially for the words chosen for the dialogues.

This re-iterates only one to me. We are moving away from our traditional language. I mean most of us are moving away from our respective regional language. I made it a practice to use maximum number of Tamil words when I talk to my parents, relatives and my friends.

Coming back to the movie, the 3D effect is awesome. After "The adventures of Tin Tin", this is the 3D movie, where the effect could be really appreciated. I compare the effects with respect to the same theater. I, most of the times, see movies in only one complex.

After seeing first 10 minutes, my friend told me that there is a Hollywood movie where the story is similar to D. Ishqq story line. However, I enjoyed the story.

On the whole, the movie can be seen for 3D effects and Karishma acting!
Welcome back Karishma!!

Cricket vs Other sports / games

I have read this quote many times in Facebook.
If Cricket is a religion in India, then Sachin Tendulkar is the God.
I have seen from my school days, many of my friends are attached towards cricket only, though my school showed equal interest on other sports / games as well. At the junior level, all guys would just start to learn the sports and try to play them. So everybody would be equally knowing the sports and due to the inherent talent, one few show their talents without much of practice. During college, I have been seeing my friends discussing about previous day cricket matches. It happens everywhere in office, school and college.

People discuss about the previous day match and it would be recap of the match.

I was wondering in recent days, why there is so much of interests among public only for cricket. I would not tell, that people are not interested about any other sports. However,  on an average, majority of the time spent on sports is towards cricket by wider population.

My thought is, have we fallen shortage of sports / games to be thought about, to be encouraged, to be played???

Sometimes, some of the people feel that knowing about cricket and knowing the highlights of previous day match, is the status, pride for themselves. And the people who are not aware of the same, are not up to the status. Actually, it gives me different thinking!

Though there are lot of different version of cricket matches like, one day matches, test matches, T20.. I feel after the arrival of IPL, the entire focus is shifted towards it during the given period of time and more of the people are interested towards IPL! After understanding the pulse and interest of us, IPL is minting money. I would feel IPL is nothing but a business for them, and just business. They showcase it is an entertainment. I would not tell, we should not watch IPL and this is not my view, right from my first point. My view is, we should encourage other sports as well, for the players to play well in the other sports and fetch medals for India, which we are lagging now. Though our encouragements alone will not fetch players, athletes  and medals. However, it may shift the focus of the government to fund more for athletes for them to concentrate and fetch medals for our country.

Also, I have been thinking about our old games which are taught by our granny and grandpa. I would like to mention some of the highlights of them. For example, one of the ancient games in South India, known as "Pallankuzhi" (in Tamil). There would be 7 pits where, either tamarind seeds or cowry shells are used to fill the pits and play the game. This game is specially increases the co-ordination between eyes and hands, increases the count thought process and it was taught to children from young age to get practiced. There are many other physical sports, martial arts emerged from India, which are dying down without the encouragements.

My point is not against cricket. I am happy that I could see guys are trained during recent days for football practice in the ground which is beside my flat.

Lets encourage other sports and games as well, so that more players are developed in them as well!!!

Shell Petrol filling station - One of the safety features

I started using two wheeler ~7 years ago and I made it a point that I always fill petrol in only one brand petrol station. I have chosen Bharat Petroleum (BP) and I have been filling regularly only in BP till now. If somebody asks me the reason for always filling only in BP, I don't have one particular reason though.

I went outside today with my friend in his bike. He was about to fill petrol in Shell Petrol station. I asked him whether he fills in any particular petrol station always. He said, he regularly fills only in Shell station.

My friend was continuously asking me to get down from the bike as he was crawling next to the filling station. Without knowing the reason, I was asking him, why to get down from the bike. My friend was exactly not aware of the reason, though. Whenever I fill in BP, I have never got down from my bike and I have not seen any of my friends getting down in any other stations.

I finally thought of asking the person who fills petrol and I asked him. He replied "Generally in any of the Shell petrol filling stations, they will not allow people to sit on the bike while the fuel is filled. It is for the safety precautions". He continued when I asked further more, "Shell petrol have more octane content and if any body's leg slips off while filling the petrol, there are chances for them to fall on the ground along with the bike and at the same time, the petrol may spill over on the ground. Due to the high octane content in the petrol, the chances of petrol catching fire is high with Shell petrol". I thought of mentioning this here. However, I am in the process of taking help from Mr. Google to find out more on this...

Reading in-between the lines - #33 I Believe

I don't understand some times what is "Reading in-between lines"?Though this is a phrase and a literal meaning is reading in between and lines. If we read in between the lines of the phrase, then we would understand that there is a hidden meaning in this phrase.

Most of the time, we cannot spell what we think. Some are straight forward in telling what they think. However, it wont be right all times, if, we tell the same way, we think. Some times, we need to be choosy in the words to tell others without hurting them and bring out our thoughts in the same way what we thought. In this context, it is the talent of the person who brings out what he thinks in almost same words related to the thoughts.

However, this is not possible by all. In such cases the other side of the receiver can become talented to understand what the opponent tries to convey literally. I feel this avoids so many misconception between relationship. Because, many of the times, the words come out of the mouth may not exactly be thought-of, it would have been just spelled out. If one can read the intention of the words and the real hidden meaning of the words, it becomes easy!  So understanding the hidden meanings from the words is important and it has to be developed day by day.

It equally creates problem, if it is understood in different way. So it is the talent of the person who reads in between the lines in positive way and moves on further neglecting the unwanted thoughts.

Friends who read my posts!!!!

It is almost 8 months that I started writing here. I know my friends read my posts. Reading posts definitely encourages me to write more. I must mention this and I must thank them for reading continuously.

Out of all my friends, one of them, is continuously asking me to write about him. I thought, it would be good mentioning couple of lines about him.

Some of his strength, rather positive points are:
  • He helps the people who are in need of
  • He encourages others
  • He is very good performer
  • He is very good at technical thinking
  • He is fast in responding
  • He has good rapport with others to get the work done on time

There could be many positive things that can be mentioned about him. I choose only to mention few points here.

I don't want to restrict my thankfulness only to him but to all.

New look - Makes me young!!!

People need a change every time. Most of us need a change. I need a change many times in many things.

I need variety in food. Variety in outfit gives new look. I keep changing my desktop pictures once in two days. This gives a new look for my laptop.

After long time, I changed the background style of my blogger. I liked it very much. I get interest to think. Thinking makes me young! Though, it depends on the thoughts that is generated.

I have my new watch. I have my new books. I have new surprise couple of weeks later.

I keep thinking to keep my thoughts new and my outlook new which make me to feel young!

Crazy after watch which shows me good time always!!!

I don't know the reason for being so crazy after watches. Though I have few collections of watches, I always wear only one watch during recent months.

Some of the persons who are around us become close to us. Due to the various reasons, we like them and they also like us. One of my recent friends has become so close to me, because I like him due to the way he carries himself. It so happened that he has gifted me a watch. This has made me more happy today.

All my watches always showed me only good time. And strongly believe that this watch also would show me only good time. Whenever I see the watch for the time, it is going to remind him!!!

Thanks to him.

Saturation Screening - Movies!!

I remember in my school and college days, when movies were released, some of them run for 100 days and fetch good amount of collection for the producers and distributors. Based on the collection generated and also based on the movie run for number of days, the movie would be declared as hit of flop. I believe this was the trend then.

And I remember generally the show timings earlier used to be 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 10pm -  called as noon show, matinee show, first show and second show respectively.  Prior booking could be done only in theater. I could recollect that there were black tickets sold at the entrance of the theater.

However, after the coming of Multiplexes and many theaters, the number of shows in a theater is increased based on the actual movie running time. Ticket booking made online and this reduced the selling of black ticket. I would rather say we could hardly see anybody selling black tickets on the multiplexes.

Having this as the situation, the trend of releasing a movie is changed. There used to be movie released in very less number of theaters, these have changed to movies getting released in almost all the theaters. The number of prints for the movie is also increased. The movies are shown for almost all the shows in all the theaters, such that they are saturated among the people at the earliest.

People have the options to see the movie at any theaters due to "Saturation screening". The movie producers and the distributors are also equally getting benefited. This helps them from the pirated versions of the movies in CDs. Though there are pirated CDs available, due to the saturation screening, many of the people tend to see the movies in theater screens. The producers and distributors need not wait for long days for the collection, instead collections are fetched in couple of weeks for the successful movies and it is termed as hit or flop based on the collections in couple of weeks!!!

This thought came into my mind, because of one of the recent movies, "THE AVENGERS", screened in a theater for the entire day for more than 8 shows per day and I saw this movie last week Saturday, followed by today. Main reason, I liked the movie very much. Screenplay, effects, story are extraordinary that my eyes did not even turn away from the screen for the full movie except for the intermission, :P

Also, I remember seeing back to back movies during 2004, 2 movies on a single day. After which it was only "Agend Vinod" and "Kahaani" on subsequent days couple of weeks before And last week "Hate Story" on Thursday, "The Avengers" on Saturday and "Tezz" on Monday, followed by later movie again today.

Trip to Aurangabad.... Ajanta and Ellora Caves!!! 2 Days

There is always a break needed from the regular work. I don't say going to some other places offers a break. However, it creates the different atmosphere and thinking from the regular day-to-day activities.

This was a short trip to Aurangabad, where Ajanta and Ellora caves were the prime ones in the trip, annexed by "Bibi ka Maqbara", "Daulatabad Fort" and "Grineshwar Temple".

The entire trip was well planned by my friends. It was just a casual talk during Tea time in the office to one of my friends (as well as colleague) that "Why don't we plan for a Ajanta and Ellora caves?". Keeping this in mind, he and his roommates have come up with a very good  plan for the short trip and of-course well executed by 5 of us.

Day1:
Ajanta Caves:
There were many caves in Ajanta where we could see "Buddha" statues in almost all the caves. He is made into different forms showing different postures mainly focused in the fingers and hands.
The walls and ceiling of the caves were painted with so many paintings.
Ajanta Paintings
We were wondering what our ancestors tried to convey from these statues and paintings.
There were so many guides who were explaining the details of the pictures and there is equal possibility of what ever being explained would be true or it would even be story coined by them.

Day 2:
Started with Daulatabad Fort:
Daulatabad Fort - Aurangabad
The steps of the fort was built randomly and were not uniform and of equal height. This was thought of initially during the built by the engineers. I assume that they could have made this for some known reasons only. On the whole, the fort made us to think about the engineers during then who has constructed the fort.

Ellora Caves:
Ellora Caves
The caves of Ellora is a mixture of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism mythologies. We would able to see the statues of Shiv, Devis and so many other Hindu mythology statues, Buddha and Mahavir's statues in different caves. There is more of artistic approach to the cave outside shrine. There were paintings on the caves.
But, we would see that none of the statues are of full shape. One or the other parts of every statues are broken. This could be due to the invasion of so many rulers into India and they might have specifically spoiled them.

Bibi ka Maqbara:
Bibi Ka Maqbara - Taj of Deccan
This looks similar to Taj Mahal and also known as Taj of Deccan. This was built almost during the same period when Taj Mahal was built. This was built for Aurangazheb's wife.

We visited Grineshwar temple also during the return in the Day2.

On the whole, the trip was really nice and it has become very memorable because of the active involvement of my friends as well.

I would write my thoughts about Ajanta and Ellora caves later...

Photograph vs Object captured!

Camera is the ultimate invention which is connected to the feelings of the people. We capture incidents and record them. Later, we see them and cherish. Our happiness, achievements, laughter, sorrow... everything on a particular moment is captured. We shoot monuments, places nature and events as well. Cameras are used in other areas for official purposes as well.

However, my main idea is to bring my observations on the taking photos on the objects. I have seen in recent days, the camera is widely available at cheap rates other than mobile camera. So almost every one of us either have high mega pixel or a mobile camera to shoot the events then and there.

I have been wondering during recent days, are people coming to tourist places to admire the places or ancestors' great skill for building the monuments or just to capture the photos of themselves along with the monument? I did not exclude me from the above statement.

Before the camera era, I have seen in the old movies, that when people visit monuments, they get excited to see sculptures, nature and starts appreciating them. I had a similar type of discussion with my grandfather as well. During his time, when people visit places, they spend more time on observing the monuments and places. However now, I see many people spending  more time in clicking the pictures of themselves along with the monuments or places.

Is it really worth to visit places only to click photos? Or it is equally worth to admire the places.  I believe eyes are the best camera and brain the wonderful recorder. Though retrieving them at later date may be different from various people.

I wonder, if we all spend enough time in tasting the nature, admiring the art and spend little time in taking the photos. This would help us to cherish the objects that was shot and later date when the photo of the same was taken!!!

I started doing so!!!

Fortunate and Unfortunate - #32 I Believe

There is always a fortunate thing hidden inside a unfortunate event happened.

However, there need not be a unfortunate thing hidden in a fortunate event.

Self Target - #31 I Believe

Target is set in companies, organizations and schools as syllabus.

Self target is the only way to attain destination. This is not only applicable in official life but also in personal life.

It is attached to definite time period. Whatever small actions we do, like cooking, washing etc, aligning them towards the time improve us to align our big activity towards time and achieve the target!

Ignorant and Ignoring- #30 I Believe

Ignorant:
We cannot be aware of everything happening around us and it is practically not possible. However, it is important for anyone to be less ignorant and try to be eliminating our ignorance!

Ignoring:
We cannot afford others' negative thoughts to influence us in our activity. They are to be ignored. Let them be ignored. Ignore others, their thoughts, their comments if they are not meant to be!!

We cannot be ignorant and at the same time we need to ignore many unwanted things!

Polite and Strong - #29 I Believe

Polite and Strong - #29 I Believe

Be polite in expressing the thoughts, even anger. But be strong in expressing them. Being strong is much more important than being impulsive.

Pune city in my view - Part 5!

Pune city in my view - Part 5!

National Anthem in the theater:

I was surprised, when I first time went to one of the theaters in Pune. It is because of National Anthem played in the theater before the movie started. I have not seen this culture in Tamil Nadu or Bangalore when I saw movies recently or earlier. I remember listening to National Anthem only during school days. It will be played everyday at the end of morning assembly and at Independence day and Republic day. However after joining college, there was no assembly in the morning. So it is only during 15th August and 26th January. After coming out of college, literally I have not listened to National Anthem.

After going to theater for the first time in Pune, I was surprised and felt proud. This is really good practice and this encourages citizens to stay patriotic. I have written this to couple of malls in Chennai about my view on playing National Anthem at Pune theaters before the start of the movie.

Temperature:

The temperature in Pune is relatively less hot than hot cities in India. I was wondering that I always compare the events happening in different places I have visited, with Chennai. It is so common that I compare with my home town. It is the general tendency. The temperature is cold in winter season. I have never experienced wearing sweater during winter season in Chennai. However, in Pune, I was wearing sweater for the entire day and night was really cold. The summer in Pune is relatively less hot than Chennai. This is added advantage for being in Pune.

Mess lady:

I have been to a mess, where Kerala food is available. Though normally, I cook and eat every night, sometimes I go out for dinner. I have chosen to go to Kerala mess for the first time. The dinner was typical Kerala food. I have not forgotten to take fish curry as I have heard that Keralates are good at fish curries and I felt the same after eating the curry. Since I have taken heavy evening snacks, I restricted to have mild dinner. After completing the same, the  amount was paid for the dinner. But the mess lady who served the food, suppose to the owner of the  mess, asked me, if the dinner was sufficient. I have eaten in hotels in different places, but not in mess. These kind of small instances make one comfortable and they feel they are not in some other place other than their known place.

Some of the happenings around us are small which may even give a big impact!!

I have tried to capture some of them happening around me and write them here, so that it can be noticed by others and can have a impact!!!

Hate Story: The story in a line!

Hate Story: The story in a line!

Only one line comes to my mind after seeing the movie:
After setting up a goal, attain it come what may!
The female lead just does this in the entire movie to attain her goal!!! The screenplay is good.

She belongs to Kolkatta (not in the movie!!), one of my favorite cities in India!

Nature - Pune City from my view - Part 4!

Nature - Pune City from my view - Part 4!

Whenever I see songs from movies, which have natural locations like greenery, falls, rivers etc, I feel excited to look at them and admire them! I think it is a boon for us to be a part of this universe where are part of such places.

Though this is known to all, I felt it is worth mentioning, none of us in the world in the past or in future (including present) can do anything against Mother Nature. No doubt, she is the best.

There are equal amount of good places to see in and around in any part of the world and appreciate the presence of nature. However, due to the so called, modern days development, the nature is being destroyed and we all are moving away from nature.

I have seen many people started appreciating the nature outside the country. I don't say all. But I sometimes feel we forget to go around our own places and appreciate the presence of nature in the form of river, mountain, greens around us, forests, flowers and fauna, sea and what not!

Since, I don't go out much earlier, I missed the chances of going in and around Tamil Nadu and now, when ever I go to my home town, I try to go to some places. However, after coming to Pune, I am getting regular chance to go around Pune. How can nature be so beautiful, admirable, adorable and of course powerful! Pune is covered with so many hilly areas and during monsoon season, no words to explain the outlet of the hilly areas. I am sure everyone of us in Pune must go around places and enjoy nature.
Be with Nature, Be Creative
I am expecting to visit some more places or even go to the same places to visit them again to admire Mother Nature. I feel happy to be a part of nature!!!

Bike Side Stand!!!

Bike Side Stand!!!

Though there are very good qualities among Pune people, which I am admiring and have been mentioning on my earlier posts, here is one quality among some people of Pune which makes to think weird.

This is my own count. If a person at least goes for a walk for about 15 minutes per day in a versatile timing, I am sure that he would definitely notice minimum 2 bike riders, riding the bike without taking off the side stand. Though this can be seen in any other places, I have seen many numbers repeatedly and I am seeing in Pune only continuously.

Probably, when I came to Pune, I thought, I did not notice this in Chennai and other places. However, when ever I go to other cities, I made it a point to notice this mandatory and finally ending up the count more in Pune!!!

This is not to tell ill about the people, but to bring awareness of the same. I shout at them on the road "Side stand dhek lo", so that they can make sure that they remove and they travel safe.

I have told this to many of my friends and colleagues and some of them came back and told me that they could able to tell the bike riders to take off the stand after deliberately noticing this when walking on the road.

So it is my request to bike riders, to positively take off the side stand in bikes before changing the gears!!!!

75th Post: Dedicated to my team members...

75th Post: Dedicated to my team members...

Working in the team is the order of the day for any professionals, be it engineering field, IT field, banking sector and what not. There is almost negligible field, where working as a  team may not be required. I can't recollect such type of work without team though.

We had a team get-together last night. My team consists of our team manager, then comes our senior who is next to our manager and rest of the team mates who are equally talented. The talents are diversified. 1. Good engineering background, 2. Completing work fast, 3. Good product knowledge, 4. Good trouble shooting knowledge, 5. Helping the team whenever required, 6. Good at handling other departments, 7. Fast learning, 8. Good at sense of humor, etc etc can be added to the qualities of my team.

Though, there were some hiccups during initial few days, my team got along with me very well, rather I got along very well with my team... I really don't know which way to mention, because both ways are apt...

They support me very well during crisis and every other situation. I must thank them for being so nice to me. They encourage me very well and make me to go to heights!!!

We met last night near in one of the restaurants and had a great party! This was the first occasion being with my team completely outside and with all of them, after coming to Pune and joining in this company. Everyone of us appreciated the get-together and enjoyed ourselves. We all had fun chatting till late night and returned. Not but not the least, the food we had... Awesome. Especially the "Crab roasted fry", I have been wanting to have crab for long time and it fulfilled last night. I had full of my stomach and returned.

It was the similar kind of mixed talents in my earlier team of previous employer and I enjoyed myself working along with them as well.

This is my 75th Post and I like to dedicate this post to my team members... I am happy to be part of my team!!

Nothing like being Home!

Nothing like being Home!

I guess, most of us unanimously agree that Home is the best place for us to finally go at the end of the day, be it after work or be it after college or anything. I too feel the same. (Though I have made my present accommodation a comfortable place to stay!!!)

I have been to my home couple of weeks before for Tamil New Year. Though, Tamil New Year was just a reason to go home and not the real reason. However, we celebrated very nice. I always find some reasons like, Diwali vacation, Pongal vacation, Tamil New Year vacation etc etcto go home for a week's time. This time, it was the latter!

It was full one week last time that I was home. More than I am, my mom was happy that I was  there.

It was the same feeling with my cousin comes from Trivandrum to Chennai every time. I know most of us feel pleasant, if we happen to go home after long time (some time also). It is a different feeling altogether. I have seen in movies when guys come to home town after long time, they feel good. Those feeling cannot be fully expressed in words, though. I also felt good, when I first time go to my home town after being in Pune.
Home is always my mom (first thought - no doubt), dad, my aunt, my uncle, my cousin (though aunt's family stay couple of streets away) and of-course my cousin's dog. All put together makes me home!!!
I have been thinking different thoughts to express them here. However, finally ending up expressing my thoughts as above!!

I am expecting to go home next time as well... Finding reasons...
