Nostalgia with 'TATA MOTORS'

People would be expecting their first day in any company would be memorable. Of-course, I too expected the same and it happened to be same. I cannot forget my first day in my present and earlier employers.

Usually, it use to be form filling and stuffs like that. However, first day, gives lot of hopes and thoughts, how future would become prosperous (though it is in self's hand to make it prosperous). The same happened to me with this employer as well.

The first day and work period is becoming Nostalgia as I am separated from my employer.  Migration from one company to another company is done by most of the employees now a days. Sticking on to one company for decades, have gone.

I am happy and it is my pleasure to think that I have worked in one of the finest organisations - Tata Motors, Cars, SUVs, Commercial vehicles design and manufacturer. My career is also built with the inputs and learning's from the work that was carried out during my tenure in Tata Motors. I am personally attached to this company for few reasons mainly...

  • I came out of my home town to join this company. Being away from home makes a person independent
  • I started cooking for myself. Cooking is a pleasure and eating self made food cannot be explained
  • I started learning music. It is an entertainment for self and others
  • I got my new fellow-friends, whom I could have not met if I have not come here
  • I started expressing myself more
  • I travelled quite a number of places in and around Pune and some of the other cities of India
  • There are many other small reasons from which I am personally attached towards this company

The tenure is really a good memory to Cherish! I have made so many friends, benefited both tangibly and non-tangibly.

Now again back to the beginning of this posts. People would be expecting their first day in any company would be memorable. I am expecting my first day in my next employer would be memorable.

Branded items and Branded thoughts

Branded items which we use, is attached to the cost. Of course all items are attached to the cost only. However, Branded items are bit extra (rather more) when compared to the non-branded items. I could see quality could be related to the branded items and in-turn quality never comes for free (or never comes for less price), which is understood.

There could also be many reasons for more price for branded items. Probably, advertisements with top model and ambassadors, showroom cost, marketing, will obviously be added to the selling cost which should be borne by the buyer (us). I feel that we can pay for the quality. But, is it necessary to pay for the other things like advertisements etc? We are left with no other option other than paying penalty for those as well, if we want to own branded items.

As the ability to buy branded items increases, we can continue to be a part of quality items. However, there are few peoples whose thoughts are becoming narrow. I don't mention all. It is few. I mentioned in the title as "Branded" thoughts. Can thoughts ever become branded? I feel yes. If thoughts are thought to be quality, then it can become branded too. It could be just broad thoughts.

I am trying to bring correlation between using branded items and thinking branded. Using branded items is mostly for advertisements. Most of us cannot deny that using most of the branded items is for showing off, though certain other items for our own comforts. But I always keep on asking me a question, how can thoughts be broader? How can a person become broad minded person?

The answer lies with-in.

My sudden thought was, not only branded items brings out the image of the person, more than  the same, branded thoughts makes him (her) more familiar to the outside world.

Branded thoughts can only make a person branded!!

Veda, Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Qur'an, - etc etc

Every religion has their own sacred books and they make it practice to read them. I don't know whether "read" is the correct word to be mentioned for sacred books, though

I see, almost all schools preach any one religion's good things. All religion say only good on the wider scale.

I have completed my education in a school which belongs to Christian community. The headmaster, teachers most of them are Christians. Morning assembly, afternoon lunch, get-together, everytime, they make sure that any chorus, songs, hymns are sung followed by a short story from Bible to all of the students. It is a regular practice till today. I don't say it is wrong, though. I have seen many of my Christian friends said that (say that) they go to Church every Sunday and they read "Bible" everyday.

The same thing happens with my Islam friends as well. They say that they do "Namaz" (workship) every week or something and read "Qur'an" every day.

Whenever I go to any of my Christian or Islam friends' house, I always see Bible in Christian house and "Qur'an" in Islam house on the wider scale. I am not much aware about the other fellow-friends who belong to other community.

Though there are lots of sacred book for Hindus, "Bhagavad Gita" is considered as one which is known to many of Hindus. There are lots of others such as "Upanishads", "Vedas", "Mantras" available for Hindus. However, except for few families, are we reading them everyday as others read their respective sacred books like "Bible", "Qur'an" etc?

Probably the ratio of holy book readers is to total people in the community may be the same. I did not think in this aspect, though.

My point is not to raise any community differences or partiality towards one community here. All holy sacred books tell the same principle, same good things on the broader perspective. However, I feel it is better to read them at-least once in a week and try to use the good points mentioned in them to the maximum possible.

It does not mean that I am aligned towards holistic books or religion. I just want to mention that we should not miss out the good points mentioned in them.

"Tirukural" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirukku%E1%B9%9Ba%E1%B8%B7) is one of the sacred books for any religion in which almost all related to human life is spelled out. These 1330 "Kural" is more than sufficient for anybody to lead the happy life. Though, the original version is in Tamil, this has been translated into various languages for the usage of everybody.

I feel that all family should have this atleast one book and go through one "Kural" (line) everyday.

Mother's Day - I love my mom the most, I love who cares for me!!

Every day or the other day, there is a special. There are so many days celebrated in a year, Birthday, Father's day, Valentine's day, Wedding day, Independence day, Republic day, May day, World AIDS day... etc and what not. Out of them, there are some day's which are unique and special to each one of us.

Out of all of them, Mother's day is very special to almost every one of us. It is very special for me to.
I love my mom the most.
I love my aunt and sister, who pours their love on me. I don't want to restrict to say wishes only to my mom for Mother's day, rather I wish my aunt and sister too being Mother's day today.
Mother's love cannot be expressed in words.
Happy Mother's day Mom!
Happy Mother's day Aunt and Sister!
I wish all the Mom's in this world.. Happy Mother's day

Answers for questions - Journey #36 I Believe

Instead of asking questions to others, if we make ourselves to think about it and ask ourselves, the searching journey will fetch us the answers and directions for all our questions and thoughts...

Missing and Gaining - #35 I Believe

If we feel like missing something, then it  definitely means we are gaining some thing else.
We most of the time, neglect the gain, thinking about the missed one...

Dangerous Ishqq (3D) - Good, Ok, Bad!!!

Dangerous Ishqq (D. Ishqq) is another film that made me to think for a while. This time, it is not the story or the screenplay, which made me to think about the movie. But it is the dialogues which made to go back to my school days. Instead of mentioning it as dialogues, it would be precise, if I mention words chosen for the dialogues.

My second language in school was Tamil, my regional language. However, I learnt Hindi separately for couple of years, going to classes everyday in the evening. I did not get a chance to use Hindi in my home town until I came to Pune. It was more than a decade, I was in touch with Hindi. So it was little difficult during initial days, though. Now, I don't say, I am fluent, but I can definitely say, I can understand and make others understand.

After the usage of English and influence of western culture over us, the usage of regional words is day by day reducing. This is just not perception as it can be seen and experienced by anybody.

Of the recent Hindi movies, I have seen, D. Ishqq has used very good poetic words. During the initial 10 minutes itself, this could be felt and I was just telling my friend in the theater. This is really good and I liked this very much. Then in the entire movie, some of the words were not picked up from the regular spoken slang. When the story scrolled back to 1947, 16th century, 15th century, it was obvious on the words used. However, I could not understand some of the words in the movie. Since, I could make out the words on the broader perceptive, I loved the movie especially for the words chosen for the dialogues.

This re-iterates only one to me. We are moving away from our traditional language. I mean most of us are moving away from our respective regional language. I made it a practice to use maximum number of Tamil words when I talk to my parents, relatives and my friends.

Coming back to the movie, the 3D effect is awesome. After "The adventures of Tin Tin", this is the 3D movie, where the effect could be really appreciated. I compare the effects with respect to the same theater. I, most of the times, see movies in only one complex.

After seeing first 10 minutes, my friend told me that there is a Hollywood movie where the story is similar to D. Ishqq story line. However, I enjoyed the story.

On the whole, the movie can be seen for 3D effects and Karishma acting!
Welcome back Karishma!!

Cricket vs Other sports / games

I have read this quote many times in Facebook.
If Cricket is a religion in India, then Sachin Tendulkar is the God.
I have seen from my school days, many of my friends are attached towards cricket only, though my school showed equal interest on other sports / games as well. At the junior level, all guys would just start to learn the sports and try to play them. So everybody would be equally knowing the sports and due to the inherent talent, one few show their talents without much of practice. During college, I have been seeing my friends discussing about previous day cricket matches. It happens everywhere in office, school and college.

People discuss about the previous day match and it would be recap of the match.

I was wondering in recent days, why there is so much of interests among public only for cricket. I would not tell, that people are not interested about any other sports. However,  on an average, majority of the time spent on sports is towards cricket by wider population.

My thought is, have we fallen shortage of sports / games to be thought about, to be encouraged, to be played???

Sometimes, some of the people feel that knowing about cricket and knowing the highlights of previous day match, is the status, pride for themselves. And the people who are not aware of the same, are not up to the status. Actually, it gives me different thinking!

Though there are lot of different version of cricket matches like, one day matches, test matches, T20.. I feel after the arrival of IPL, the entire focus is shifted towards it during the given period of time and more of the people are interested towards IPL! After understanding the pulse and interest of us, IPL is minting money. I would feel IPL is nothing but a business for them, and just business. They showcase it is an entertainment. I would not tell, we should not watch IPL and this is not my view, right from my first point. My view is, we should encourage other sports as well, for the players to play well in the other sports and fetch medals for India, which we are lagging now. Though our encouragements alone will not fetch players, athletes  and medals. However, it may shift the focus of the government to fund more for athletes for them to concentrate and fetch medals for our country.

Also, I have been thinking about our old games which are taught by our granny and grandpa. I would like to mention some of the highlights of them. For example, one of the ancient games in South India, known as "Pallankuzhi" (in Tamil). There would be 7 pits where, either tamarind seeds or cowry shells are used to fill the pits and play the game. This game is specially increases the co-ordination between eyes and hands, increases the count thought process and it was taught to children from young age to get practiced. There are many other physical sports, martial arts emerged from India, which are dying down without the encouragements.

My point is not against cricket. I am happy that I could see guys are trained during recent days for football practice in the ground which is beside my flat.

Lets encourage other sports and games as well, so that more players are developed in them as well!!!

Immunity over sensitivity - #34 I Believe

It is better to increase the immunity over sensitivity, instead of blaming others for disturbing.
Though the level of increasing is always a perception.

Shell Petrol filling station - One of the safety features

I started using two wheeler ~7 years ago and I made it a point that I always fill petrol in only one brand petrol station. I have chosen Bharat Petroleum (BP) and I have been filling regularly only in BP till now. If somebody asks me the reason for always filling only in BP, I don't have one particular reason though.

I went outside today with my friend in his bike. He was about to fill petrol in Shell Petrol station. I asked him whether he fills in any particular petrol station always. He said, he regularly fills only in Shell station.

My friend was continuously asking me to get down from the bike as he was crawling next to the filling station. Without knowing the reason, I was asking him, why to get down from the bike. My friend was exactly not aware of the reason, though. Whenever I fill in BP, I have never got down from my bike and I have not seen any of my friends getting down in any other stations.

I finally thought of asking the person who fills petrol and I asked him. He replied "Generally in any of the Shell petrol filling stations, they will not allow people to sit on the bike while the fuel is filled. It is for the safety precautions". He continued when I asked further more, "Shell petrol have more octane content and if any body's leg slips off while filling the petrol, there are chances for them to fall on the ground along with the bike and at the same time, the petrol may spill over on the ground. Due to the high octane content in the petrol, the chances of petrol catching fire is high with Shell petrol". I thought of mentioning this here. However, I am in the process of taking help from Mr. Google to find out more on this...

Reading in-between the lines - #33 I Believe

I don't understand some times what is "Reading in-between lines"?Though this is a phrase and a literal meaning is reading in between and lines. If we read in between the lines of the phrase, then we would understand that there is a hidden meaning in this phrase.

Most of the time, we cannot spell what we think. Some are straight forward in telling what they think. However, it wont be right all times, if, we tell the same way, we think. Some times, we need to be choosy in the words to tell others without hurting them and bring out our thoughts in the same way what we thought. In this context, it is the talent of the person who brings out what he thinks in almost same words related to the thoughts.

However, this is not possible by all. In such cases the other side of the receiver can become talented to understand what the opponent tries to convey literally. I feel this avoids so many misconception between relationship. Because, many of the times, the words come out of the mouth may not exactly be thought-of, it would have been just spelled out. If one can read the intention of the words and the real hidden meaning of the words, it becomes easy!  So understanding the hidden meanings from the words is important and it has to be developed day by day.

It equally creates problem, if it is understood in different way. So it is the talent of the person who reads in between the lines in positive way and moves on further neglecting the unwanted thoughts.

Friends who read my posts!!!!

It is almost 8 months that I started writing here. I know my friends read my posts. Reading posts definitely encourages me to write more. I must mention this and I must thank them for reading continuously.

Out of all my friends, one of them, is continuously asking me to write about him. I thought, it would be good mentioning couple of lines about him.

Some of his strength, rather positive points are:
  • He helps the people who are in need of
  • He encourages others
  • He is very good performer
  • He is very good at technical thinking
  • He is fast in responding
  • He has good rapport with others to get the work done on time

There could be many positive things that can be mentioned about him. I choose only to mention few points here.

I don't want to restrict my thankfulness only to him but to all.

New look - Makes me young!!!

People need a change every time. Most of us need a change. I need a change many times in many things.

I need variety in food. Variety in outfit gives new look. I keep changing my desktop pictures once in two days. This gives a new look for my laptop.

After long time, I changed the background style of my blogger. I liked it very much. I get interest to think. Thinking makes me young! Though, it depends on the thoughts that is generated.

I have my new watch. I have my new books. I have new surprise couple of weeks later.

I keep thinking to keep my thoughts new and my outlook new which make me to feel young!

Crazy after watch which shows me good time always!!!

I don't know the reason for being so crazy after watches. Though I have few collections of watches, I always wear only one watch during recent months.

Some of the persons who are around us become close to us. Due to the various reasons, we like them and they also like us. One of my recent friends has become so close to me, because I like him due to the way he carries himself. It so happened that he has gifted me a watch. This has made me more happy today.

All my watches always showed me only good time. And strongly believe that this watch also would show me only good time. Whenever I see the watch for the time, it is going to remind him!!!

Thanks to him.

Saturation Screening - Movies!!

I remember in my school and college days, when movies were released, some of them run for 100 days and fetch good amount of collection for the producers and distributors. Based on the collection generated and also based on the movie run for number of days, the movie would be declared as hit of flop. I believe this was the trend then.

And I remember generally the show timings earlier used to be 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 10pm -  called as noon show, matinee show, first show and second show respectively.  Prior booking could be done only in theater. I could recollect that there were black tickets sold at the entrance of the theater.

However, after the coming of Multiplexes and many theaters, the number of shows in a theater is increased based on the actual movie running time. Ticket booking made online and this reduced the selling of black ticket. I would rather say we could hardly see anybody selling black tickets on the multiplexes.

Having this as the situation, the trend of releasing a movie is changed. There used to be movie released in very less number of theaters, these have changed to movies getting released in almost all the theaters. The number of prints for the movie is also increased. The movies are shown for almost all the shows in all the theaters, such that they are saturated among the people at the earliest.

People have the options to see the movie at any theaters due to "Saturation screening". The movie producers and the distributors are also equally getting benefited. This helps them from the pirated versions of the movies in CDs. Though there are pirated CDs available, due to the saturation screening, many of the people tend to see the movies in theater screens. The producers and distributors need not wait for long days for the collection, instead collections are fetched in couple of weeks for the successful movies and it is termed as hit or flop based on the collections in couple of weeks!!!

This thought came into my mind, because of one of the recent movies, "THE AVENGERS", screened in a theater for the entire day for more than 8 shows per day and I saw this movie last week Saturday, followed by today. Main reason, I liked the movie very much. Screenplay, effects, story are extraordinary that my eyes did not even turn away from the screen for the full movie except for the intermission, :P

Also, I remember seeing back to back movies during 2004, 2 movies on a single day. After which it was only "Agend Vinod" and "Kahaani" on subsequent days couple of weeks before And last week "Hate Story" on Thursday, "The Avengers" on Saturday and "Tezz" on Monday, followed by later movie again today.

Trip to Aurangabad.... Ajanta and Ellora Caves!!! 2 Days

There is always a break needed from the regular work. I don't say going to some other places offers a break. However, it creates the different atmosphere and thinking from the regular day-to-day activities.

This was a short trip to Aurangabad, where Ajanta and Ellora caves were the prime ones in the trip, annexed by "Bibi ka Maqbara", "Daulatabad Fort" and "Grineshwar Temple".

The entire trip was well planned by my friends. It was just a casual talk during Tea time in the office to one of my friends (as well as colleague) that "Why don't we plan for a Ajanta and Ellora caves?". Keeping this in mind, he and his roommates have come up with a very good  plan for the short trip and of-course well executed by 5 of us.

Day1:
Ajanta Caves:
There were many caves in Ajanta where we could see "Buddha" statues in almost all the caves. He is made into different forms showing different postures mainly focused in the fingers and hands.
The walls and ceiling of the caves were painted with so many paintings.
Ajanta Paintings
We were wondering what our ancestors tried to convey from these statues and paintings.
There were so many guides who were explaining the details of the pictures and there is equal possibility of what ever being explained would be true or it would even be story coined by them.

Day 2:
Started with Daulatabad Fort:
Daulatabad Fort - Aurangabad
The steps of the fort was built randomly and were not uniform and of equal height. This was thought of initially during the built by the engineers. I assume that they could have made this for some known reasons only. On the whole, the fort made us to think about the engineers during then who has constructed the fort.

Ellora Caves:
Ellora Caves
The caves of Ellora is a mixture of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism mythologies. We would able to see the statues of Shiv, Devis and so many other Hindu mythology statues, Buddha and Mahavir's statues in different caves. There is more of artistic approach to the cave outside shrine. There were paintings on the caves.
But, we would see that none of the statues are of full shape. One or the other parts of every statues are broken. This could be due to the invasion of so many rulers into India and they might have specifically spoiled them.

Bibi ka Maqbara:
Bibi Ka Maqbara - Taj of Deccan
This looks similar to Taj Mahal and also known as Taj of Deccan. This was built almost during the same period when Taj Mahal was built. This was built for Aurangazheb's wife.

We visited Grineshwar temple also during the return in the Day2.

On the whole, the trip was really nice and it has become very memorable because of the active involvement of my friends as well.

I would write my thoughts about Ajanta and Ellora caves later...

Photograph vs Object captured!

Camera is the ultimate invention which is connected to the feelings of the people. We capture incidents and record them. Later, we see them and cherish. Our happiness, achievements, laughter, sorrow... everything on a particular moment is captured. We shoot monuments, places nature and events as well. Cameras are used in other areas for official purposes as well.

However, my main idea is to bring my observations on the taking photos on the objects. I have seen in recent days, the camera is widely available at cheap rates other than mobile camera. So almost every one of us either have high mega pixel or a mobile camera to shoot the events then and there.

I have been wondering during recent days, are people coming to tourist places to admire the places or ancestors' great skill for building the monuments or just to capture the photos of themselves along with the monument? I did not exclude me from the above statement.

Before the camera era, I have seen in the old movies, that when people visit monuments, they get excited to see sculptures, nature and starts appreciating them. I had a similar type of discussion with my grandfather as well. During his time, when people visit places, they spend more time on observing the monuments and places. However now, I see many people spending  more time in clicking the pictures of themselves along with the monuments or places.

Is it really worth to visit places only to click photos? Or it is equally worth to admire the places.  I believe eyes are the best camera and brain the wonderful recorder. Though retrieving them at later date may be different from various people.

I wonder, if we all spend enough time in tasting the nature, admiring the art and spend little time in taking the photos. This would help us to cherish the objects that was shot and later date when the photo of the same was taken!!!

I started doing so!!!
