Rewinding memories back to Pune

People always rewind their memories when any present incidents look similar to the earlier happened incidents. It was a sudden rain in Chennai couple of days ago. Though rain is a common factor in almost all the places, somehow my memory is connected to Pune, if there is any rain.

It is just one and half month that I am out of Pune. But the hill stations, I visited, keep coming to my memory when I was sitting at the window seat in the bus. The office was very close by my flat. So I did not get much of a chance to walk or travel in rain for a long time earlier. Nevertheless the duration of the rain was for entire day, week and months continuously. It keeps raining, rather drizzling for almost entire day.

The chill wind with droplets of water, that passes by, with the scent of sand, water and air mixed with, always a pleasant. The smell remains for the whole season and it is present everywhere, office, flat, balcony, balcony plants and everywhere.

Earlier, every day evening, when I was walking from office to my flat, it neither allowed me to keep my umbrella opened or closed. By the time, I open, it gives indication that the drizzling stopped and by the time, I close, it starts to pour. I have told this over phone, then. I even reached the point that, let it rain or not, let me hold the umbrella opened. The bike ride sitting either at back or front always a good memory to cherish, though I have not ridden bike during rainy season in Pune for many times.

Chennai started to rain? A couple of days ago, only for two-three evenings for about half an hour or so. But the feeling it had created drove my memories back to the last rainy season in Pune. I did not remember enjoying rainy season in Chennai during my school days or college days. The only enjoyment was whether the school or college would announce holiday due to rain. That was the only expectation and enjoyment during those days. Subsequently, the water logging in Chennai makes life miserable in rainy season. This makes many people to hate rain. I am not an exception! But no water logging, no mud splash, and drizzling and chill wind always make a person to enjoy the rain. And that is what made me to enjoy rain in Pune. The same effect in Chennai (at least to the place I belong to, did not have too much of water logging for half an hour rain) made me to rewind my memory back to Pune!
